Sarajya Foundation beat UP Police by four goals

Mandi, Jun 18 (UNI) Surajya Foundation from Kohlapur defeated UP Police 4-3 in tie-breaker in the 37th all India Hot Weather football Tournament here today.

The teams were 1-1 level in the regulation period. Surajya Foundation a goal down at the interval, recovered through Vikas late in second half to equalise and again in the battle of penalty kicks came from behind to overpower UP Police. Vikas again converted the vital last kick to clinch the issue while the final kick by Sourave was saved by the Kohlapur goalkeeper.

Imajan, Tony Dass and Vikas scored for Kohlapur team. Gian Prakesh and Ali were scorers for UP while other three penalty kicks were wasted.

Gian Prakash had given UP police the lead in the 20th minute.

Syurajya foundation kept striving hard on ground rendered soft and slushy due to drizzle in the morning and were eventually rewarded.

Yesterday, Mandi put up a plucky display to beat central railway, Jhansi, by two goals to one.
