Saurav Ghosal advances into final qualifier at Qatar Open

New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) India's top rated squash champion Saurav Ghosal overpowered Khawaja Adil Maqbool of Pakistan in the first qualifying round of the Qatar Classic in straight sets 11-4, 11-9, 11-7.

Saurav, ranked 40, will now have to get past higher-ranked opponent -- England's Daryl Selby (Rank 37) in the final qualifiying round of the 1,85,000 dollar PSA Super Series Platinum event to enter the main draw today.

The other players competing in the final qualifying round include Renan Lavigne and Jean-Michel Arcucci from France, Muhammad Faheem Khan, Shahid Zaman and Mansoor Zaman of Pakistan, Jonathan Kemp and Stacey Ross of England, and Dylan Bennett of Netherlands.

In addition to this there are five players from Egypt who have qualified for the final qualifying round, an SRFI release stated.
