Saurav Ghosal loses second qualifying round in Kuwait Open

Chennai, Apr 7 (UNI) India's top rated squash player Saurav Ghosal went down fighting against England's Alister Walker 11-9, 6-11, 11-7, 11-9 in the second qualifying round of the 2.5 lakh dollar 2007 Sheikha Al Saad Kuwait Open today.

Saurav, presently ranked 40 in the world, had defeated Mohammed Hajeyah of Kuwait in the first round but found the going tough against the 28th ranked opponenet.

Now, the second round loss left him with few options to enter the main draw of the prestigious event, which attracts the world's top men and women players.

The tournament comproses two sections. The women's section under Women's International Squash Players' Association (WISPA) Open is a Gold event, offering a 50,000 dollar prize fund, whilst the men's event under Men's Professional Squash Association (PSA) Super Series is a Platinum event providing a whopping 200,000 dollar prize fund.
