SBT pips Punjab Police

Duler, Goa, Mar 7 (UNI) State Bank of Travancore (Kerala) hung on to a first-half goal to get the better of Punjab Police 1-0 in the ONGC Second Division National Football league match played at Mapusa today.

The all-important goal for the Kerala team came in the 36th minute through Nigerian Izeh NnaHenry which ultimately turned out to be the match winner.

At the end of the second round, Chirag United (Kolkata) and ONGC (Mumbai) lead the table with 4 points each with a win and draw, followed by South East Central Railway, hosts Vasco Sports Club and SBT with three points each from a win and a defeat.

Punjab have lost both their matches so far and have no points to their credit.

In the third round tomrrow, Vasco Sports Club will clash against ONGC, Mumbai.
