Scottie Scheffler expressed immense satisfaction after matching the record for the most victories in a single year by retaining his title at the Hero World Challenge. The American golfer delivered an impressive nine-under 63 in the final round, securing the tournament with a total of 25 under par. This performance placed him six strokes ahead of South Korea's Tom Kim.

Scheffler's flawless round earned him a ninth title in 2024, equalling the record set by Tiger Woods in 2000 and Vijay Singh in 2004 for the most wins in a single season since 1950. He achieved this feat by birdieing three of the first four holes and four of the last six at Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas. "It was very satisfying," Scheffler remarked. "I did a lot of good stuff today on the course."

Tom Kim finished with a score of 68, ending at 19-under, as he struggled to keep pace with Scheffler. Meanwhile, Justin Thomas, who led overnight but hasn't won since the 2022 PGA Championship, finished one shot behind Kim in third place. This allowed Scheffler to maintain his lead and become only the third player to win consecutive editions of this tournament.

Reflecting on his successful year, which included winning both The Masters and an Olympic gold medal, Scheffler shared his thoughts: "It has been a great year and a fun year. I have had a little bit of time to reflect, but I am not really sure how to assess it. It has just been pretty surreal, a lot of fun, and I am just really grateful."
