Patiala, Apr 18 (UNI) Sports Authority of India (SAI) will hold selection trials for boys and girls here at the NIS for admission to its Centre of Excellence.
The trials for athletics, both boys and girls, would be held on April 25 and 26. For cycling (boys and girls) the trials would on May 7 to 9 amd for hockey (only boys) the trial dates are May 14 to 16.
The dates for judo, both boys and girls, are May 8 and 9.
Candidates between 17 and 22 years who have ranked best six in the individual events and participants of the team games in junior and senior recognized national level competitions are eligible for the trials.
The candidates should report at the NIS on the trial dates with their competition kit, original certificates of their sports achievements, three passport-size photos and 'no objection certificates' from their employers.
Under the scheme, the facilities provided to the resident trasinees would be free board and lodging, sports kit, insurance and medical facilities, competition expenses up to Rs 3000.
Non-resident trainees would be provided stipend of Rs 9000, playing kit and competition expenses up to Rs 3000 per per annum.
