Lahore, Mar 31 (UNI) National selectors are unhappy with skipper Shoaib Malik, who is busy with IPL commitments, for his absence during the selection of the squad for the one-day series against Bangladesh at home.
The selectors were shocked when they were asked to communicate with the skipper, who was not available for the last 10 days citing his mother's poor health, on telephone to finalise the squad for the first two one-day games against Bangladesh.
''It came as a surprise to us to know that Malik was in Mumbai.
We were told he was not playing in domestic matches because of the illness of his mother,'' a selector said.
Sources said Malik is in Mumbai for the official ceremony of the IPL and even for the legal case he was pursuing against the Siddiqui family in Hyderabad.
Malik has given a notice to the Siddiqui family to publicly apologise for making false accusations against him.
However, the Siddiqui family has alleged that the captain has performed 'nikah' with their daughter Ayesha but is now refusing to own up and give her a divorce as per Islamic laws.
