Selling T-Shirts of England's World Cup rivals prompts 'racism' probe by Brit cops!

London, Feb. 24 (ANI): A British shopkeeper was left stunned after he was targeted by anti-racism police for selling T-shirts of England's World Cup rivals.

Jamie Wilkinson, 23, was shocked when an officer turned up at his store to quiz him over tops inscribed with the tongue-in-cheek slogan "Anyone But England".

"The officer said he was following up a complaint about racism. But the tops are just harmless banter. They've got nothing to do with hating the English, it's just about winding them up - and it really seems to be working," The Sun quoted Jamie, 23, as saying.

The 20-pound shirts are intended to give Scots a light-hearted way of supporting this summer's World Cup.

Football fans have slammed the probe as a total "waste of time".

Hamish Husband, of the Association of Tartan Army Clubs, insisted: "It's not racism - it's football."

Englishman John Midgeley, founder of the Campaign Against Political Correctness, added: "If the police want to waste their time investigating this, it beggars belief."

Grampian Police yesterday confirmed an officer had visited the shop, but insisted a complaint about racism was not made. (ANI)
