Senior National Taekwondo Championships from Sept 25

Visakhapatanam, Sep 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Taekwondo Association (APTA) President T Harsha Vardhana Prasad today said the 26th Senior National Taekwondo Championships for Men and Women will be held at Swarnabharati Indoor Stadium here from September 25 to 29.

Talking to newspersons here, he said 50 TFI approved referees, five technical board members and five arbitration committee members would attend the championships.

Thirty states and three service boards, CISF, CRPF and SSCB would participate in the event, he said.

Each match would be of three rounds of two minutes per bout with one minute rest per bout.

He also said the 34th National Games, to be held at Jharkhand in 2008, will have eight states in fray in Tackwand.

There was also a proposal to host the Asian Taekwondo Championships in 2009 here to encourage the sports and tourism sectors, he added.
