Sepp Straka clinched victory at the Truist Championship after Shane Lowry faltered with two late bogeys. Both golfers were tied at 14-under before the final round, but Straka's 68 secured his win. Lowry ended with a level par of 70, tying for second with Justin Thomas. "I hit a lot of really good shots and made a lot of mistakes. I hung in there," Straka told BBC Sport.

The pivotal moment came on the 16th hole when both players were tied at 16 under. Lowry missed a five-foot putt, resulting in a bogey, while Straka managed a par to take the lead with two holes left. Lowry then three-putted on the 18th, finishing two shots behind Straka, who maintained his lead.

Rory McIlroy, defending champion and four-time winner, finished T7 at 10 under. Reflecting on his performance, McIlroy said, "I thought on the greens was good even though I didn't hole a lot of putts [on Sunday]. My approach play got a little better as the week went on."

Straka expressed gratitude for his team and coaches who support him consistently. "It [winning] is huge, the biggest win of my career," he said. Although his coaches weren't present this week, their ongoing support played a crucial role in his success.

Reflecting on his performance, Straka mentioned feeling pressure from strong competitors behind him. "I had two really, really good players that were playing really well behind us," he noted to Sky Sports. Despite some missteps, he remained focused and resilient throughout.

Lowry acknowledged having an opportunity to challenge for the lead despite starting three strokes back. "I gave myself a chance," he stated. He admitted disappointment over pushing too hard on the 16th but was pleased with his overall effort.

McIlroy is optimistic about upcoming tournaments and looks forward to competing at Quail Hollow. He believes that hitting more fairways will improve his game further. "I'm looking forward to getting to Quail Hollow and seeing some more familiar visuals," McIlroy added.
