Puducherry, Aug 4: Defending champions Services, Indian Railways and runners up Kerala and Delhi will vie for honours in the 58th Senior National Basketball Championships to be held here from December 21 this year.

Addressing a press conference today, Championships Organising Committee President and Puducherry Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao said both women's and men's team from 27 states, comprising about 900 players, would take part in the championships, which would conclude on December 28.

Mr Rao said the matches would be played on a league-cum knock out basis. It was for the first time, Puducherry was hosting the championships, he said.Chief Minister N Rangasamy would inaugurate the championships, he added.
