Seven Universities enter third round

Kottayam, Jan 22 (UNI) Anna, H A North Gujarat, Amaravati, Annamalai and Mangalore Universities are among seven to enter the third round of the All-India Inter-University South-West Zone Women's Volleyball Championships at the M G University sports pavilion here today.

Anna University trounced Acharya Nagarjuna in straight sets 25-15, 25-7, 25-16, while H A North Gujarat defeated Dr Ambedkar, Marathwada 17-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-12, 25-10.

Amaravati University defeated Karnataka in straight sets 25-14, 25-19, 25-21.

Annamalai University outwitted Shivaji University in a thrilling encounter 25-20, 25-18, 18-25, 25-23.

Mangalore University defeated Pondicherry 25-8, 25-9, 25-8 while Visweswarayya Technical University trounced University of Kota 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.

Rani Durgavati Viswavidyalaya beat Sardar Patel University in straight sets 25-2, 25-16, 25-7.
