Sevilla coach Ramos discharged from hospital
MADRID, Mar 1 (Reuters) Sevilla coach Juande Ramos was discharged from hospital today after being hit on the head by a bottle during their King's Cup match against city rivals Real Betis.
Sevilla doctor Adolfo Munoz said the 52-year-old, who spent the night under observation after being struck yesterday, had not suffered any neurological damage.
Ramos, a former coach of Betis, was knocked unconscious by what appeared to be a two-litre plastic bottle full of liquid thrown from the crowd as he celebrated his side's goal in their quarter-final, second leg at the Betis ground.
The match was abandoned soon after the incident which took place 12 minutes into the second half.
The Spanish Football Federation's Competitions Committee will meet later today to decide on what action they will take, but are not expected to give a ruling until tomorrow.
Sevilla lead the tie 1-0 on aggregate.
