Shai Gilgeous-Alexander showcased his scoring prowess by netting 51 points, leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 137-128 win over the Houston Rockets. This victory marked their 50th of the season. Gilgeous-Alexander, who averages a league-best 32.3 points per game, reached the 50-point milestone for the fourth time this season, a feat unmatched by any other player in 2024-25.

The Thunder's triumph was supported by Jalen Williams with 24 points and Chet Holmgren contributing 11 points and 11 rebounds. Oklahoma City, topping the Western Conference at 50-11, joined Cleveland Cavaliers as the only teams with 50 wins so far. The Rockets suffered their second consecutive loss without key players like Alperen Sengun, Fred VanVleet, Dillon Brooks, and Amen Thompson.

Gilgeous-Alexander Leads Thunder with 51 Points

Despite missing several starters, Houston initially led 29-21 after ten minutes. However, Oklahoma City closed the first quarter strong with a 9-2 run to trail just 31-30. Gilgeous-Alexander scored 20 points in the first quarter and added eight more in the second, helping his team take a narrow 63-62 lead at halftime before extending it in the third quarter.

Gilgeous-Alexander continued his impressive performance after halftime with another 17 points in the third quarter on efficient shooting. This effort helped the Thunder extend their lead to 102-89 entering the final period. Although Houston narrowed the gap to six early in the fourth quarter, Luguentz Dort's two three-pointers capped an 8-0 run that pushed Oklahoma City's lead to 120-106 with under seven minutes remaining.

In another game, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan combined for 42 points as Sacramento Kings defeated Dallas Mavericks decisively with a score of 122-98. Dallas faced further setbacks when Kyrie Irving left early due to a knee sprain after being fouled during a drive. Already missing Anthony Davis and other top players, Dallas has now lost four out of five games.

Sacramento extended their winning streak to four games despite missing Domantas Sabonis due to injury. All five Kings starters scored double figures to fill his absence. Jonas Valanciunas stepped up with 14 points and nine rebounds while LaVine scored efficiently with DeRozan adding significant contributions.

Curry Shines in Charlotte Return

Stephen Curry returned to his hometown to help Golden State Warriors secure a comfortable win over Charlotte Hornets with a score of 119-101. Curry contributed significantly with his performance of scoring and assists as Golden State maintained control throughout for their sixth win in seven games.

The Warriors moved into sixth place in the Western Conference standings following this victory. Buddy Hield provided valuable bench support alongside double-doubles from Brandin Podziemski and Draymond Green. Despite Miles Bridges' strong showing for Charlotte with LaMelo Bell also contributing well statistically; they couldn't overcome Golden State's dominance.

The Hornets managed an impressive run during third quarter but ultimately fell short against Golden State's response led by Curry's timely three-pointer which helped maintain their lead heading into final period where Podziemski alongwith Hield sealed victory through consecutive threes ensuring comfortable margin till end.
