Sharadchandra R Naik is the new SJAG President

Panaji, Aug 8 (UNI) Sharadchandra R Naik (UNI) has been unanimously elected as the President of the Sports Journalists Association of Goa (SJAG) for the year 2007-09.

The announcement was made at the Annual General Body Meeting of the SJAC held today.

Mangesh R Borkar (Sunaparant) has retained the post of General Secretary.

The other office bearers of SJAC are: Vice-Preisdent's: Francis Rebeiro (Herald) and Kishore Petkar (Gomantak); Jt Secretary: Nandesh Kambli (Tarun Bharat); Treasurer: Sudhakar Naik (Navprabha); Organsing Secretary: Suraj Nandrekar (Gomantak Times).

SJAG members are: Anthony Marcus Mergulhao, Maichel Sequeira, Dinesh Sakhalkar, Prashant Verekar and Rosario Esteibeiro.

The association observed a minute's silence in the memory of former sports editor of Navprabha, late Mr Vijay Gad who passed away recently. The Association has decided to hold an inter-media cricket tournament in the memory of late Mr Gad.
