Indian skeet shooters begin the 2026 season at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup Tangier. Competition starts on March 27 at Club Tangérois de Tir, Morocco. The opening World Cup features Olympic champions and world champions. India enters a full squad in both men’s and women’s skeet. Extra entries also shoot for ranking points.
Shooting begins at 13:30 IST (9 AM local time) on March 27. Day one includes 75 targets for men and women. The remaining 50 targets follow before the finals on Sunday, March 29. The women’s final starts at 20:30 IST (4 PM local time). The men’s final follows at 22:00 IST (5:30 PM local time).

India fields six athletes each in men’s and women’s skeet. Two more shooters in each category compete only for ranking points. The event draws a deep international lineup. Several medal winners from Olympic Games and World Championships are entered. The Tangier World Cup is the first ISSF shotgun event of the season.
The women’s field includes Francisca Crovetto Chadid of Chile, the reigning Olympic champion. Crovetto Chadid returns to international competition after maternity leave. World champion Samantha Simonton of United States also competes. Italy’s Diana Bacosi enters as a double Olympic champion. Former world champion Dania Jo Vizzi and Assem Orynbay add further strength.
India’s women’s team includes Olympian Maheshwari Chauhan. Siblings Darshana Rathore and Yashasvi Rathore are also in the squad. Yashasvi Rathore finished second at the 68th Nationals. Yashasvi Rathore also won junior silver at the Asian Championships in Shymkent last year. Areeba Khan and Mansi Raghuwanshi compete for ranking points only.
The men’s skeet event has an 82-strong entry list. Emil Kjeldgaard Petersen of Denmark leads after a 2025 World Championship bronze. Christian Elliot of USA enters as the World Cup finals winner. Italy’s Gabriele Rossetti, a double Olympic champion, is listed. Denmark’s Tokyo silver medallist Jesper Hansen and Qatar’s Masoud Saleh Al-Athba also compete.
Angad Vir Singh Bajwa represents Canada for the first time. Bajwa competed in India colours until last year. India’s key names include Man Singh and Parampal Singh Guron. Jyotiraditya Singh Sisodiya makes a senior international debut. Man Singh returns after three years and is a former Asian champion. Parampal last represented India in 2022.
Sisodiya won junior bronze at the Shymkent Asian Championships last year. Sukhbir Singh Harika and junior national champion Harmehar Singh Lally shoot for ranking points. With major champions and new talents present, Tangier offers an early test. Results from March 27 to March 29 will set the season’s first markers for India’s skeet squad.
