The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), on Friday (June 21) announced a final 21-member Indian Shooting team for the Paris 2024 Olympics, after the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) accepted their request for a quota swap.
Shreyasi Singh has now been added to the team and will be participating in the event alongside Rajeshwari Kumari. She also represents the Jamui constituency in the Bihar Assembly under the BJP.

Tokyo Olympian Manu Bhaker qualifying in both the women’s 10m air pistol and 25m pistol events meant that the NRAI had one quota that could be reallocated, which Singh has now taken up.
The 32-year-old shooter won a gold medal in double trap at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and she also won a bronze medal in the double trap team event at the 2014 Asian Games. She is also a multiple-time medalist in the Commonwealth Championships.
Shreyasi Singh, hailing from a political family, joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in 2020 and was elected as a Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Jamui constituency in the 2020 Bihar Elections.
Her grandfather, Kumar Serender Singh, and her father, Digvijay Singh, both served as presidents of the National Rifle Association of India. Shreyasi comes from Gidhaur in the Jamui district of Bihar.

Her father was also a former Union Minister, and her mother, Putul Kumari, is a former Member of Parliament from Banka, Bihar. Shreyasi pursued Arts at Hansraj College, Delhi, and an MBA at Manav Rachna International University, Faridabad.
The team now comprises eight members in Rifle, seven in Pistol and six in the Shotgun discipline. Including the mixed events, the team will now have 28 starts at the quadrennial sporting extravaganza.
