ONE Women's Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Smilla Sundell has beat the breaks off of every single woman that's stood before her. And with such a superior skill set, it's no surprise that she's at the top of the division.
As a punishing puncher, Sundell has been surgical in her performances inside the ring. But in ONE Fight Night 22's main event on Saturday, 4 May, "The Hurricane" takes on a different kind of contender, Natalia Diachkova, and Sundell wants to bring the Russian's run to an end.

"I watched all her Friday Fights. Very quick finishes in most of them, so it's very hard to say how it will be if it goes longer than one round. But yeah, she's strong and has good boxing," Sundell said.
"I don't think any fight is easy at this level, so no, it's not gonna be an easier fight compared to my previous fights. We'll see in the ring. I like stopping streaks. But I think I want this more than her, and that's why I'll come out on top."
Sundell hasn't had many viable challengers in 2024. And at the age of 19, Sundell is improving with every outing. She capped off her unbeaten run in ONE Championship last September at ONE Fight Night 14, stopping atomweight Muay Thai queen Allycia Hellen Rodrigues in round three.
Since then, potential opponents have come and gone. Sundell has no issues remaining active in the gym, but preparing for battle with no fight locked in frustrates the Swedish slugger. However, having Diachkova signed and sealed, Sundell is now able to remove all distractions and prepare for war.
"I was like, 'Oh, finally!' But it was kind of hard getting [an opponent]," Sundell said. "It was hard for me to also focus, but when I got the name, I switched on my fight mode."
