Some people trying to tarnish my image: Chappell
New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) Bitter at people baying for his head over India's World Cup debacle, coach Greg Chappell said some people in the cricket establishment were trying to tarnish his image.
He, however, did not name any one or elaborate on his assertion.
Stating that his future was in the hands of the BCCI which will meet in Mumbai on April 6 and 7 to review India's debacle in the World Cup, Chappell told television channels that there was no question of his resigination since his contract would expire after the World Cup.
He also disclosed that he had completed his report for submission to the Board and said he did not blame any member of the team for India's early exit from the World Cup.
Chappell also denied having had any communication with the BCCI in connection with the attitude of senior players.
A section of the media had reported that five senior players had not shown respect to the team management and had attitude problems.
He said he would submit his report to the BCCI on April 6 and await the decision of the Board on his future.
''My future is in the hands of BCCI. But, I will not put in my papers,'' he said.
