Sonia Gandhi arrives in Beijing

Beijing, Aug 7 (UNI) UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi was accorded a warm welcome today after arriving here along with daughter Priyanka Vadra and son Rahul Gandhi for the 29th Olympic Games beginning tomorrow.

All the three dignitaries were received by the Chinese Minister for Protocol along with Indian Olympic Association president Suresh Kalmadi at the airport. India's ambassador to China Nirupama Rao was also present on the occasion.

During her stay, Sonia Gandhi will also visit the Indian contingent at the Games Village.

The Games get underway tomorrow with the opening ceremony this evening.
