South African Santosh SC enter IFA final after 4-2 vs Bagan

Kolkata, Mar 5 (UNI) South African outift, Santosh SC, entered the Final of the 113th IFA Shield here today defeating local giants Mohun Bagan 4-2 under flood light.

Santosh will take on Mahindra United in the final.

It was Santosh all the way. They began scoring in the 21st minute through Danny Bowers and doubled the tally in the 40th minute after Tasleem Paulse slot home 2-0.

The two teams went into halftime with Bagan falling 0-2.

Santosh made their tally 3-0 when Gregory Roelf scored in the 59th mintue.

There after Bagnan came into their elements with Bhaichung Bhutia pulling one back with a fine header in the 66th minute from a cross of Barreto.

Issaq Ahmed made it 2-3 for Mohun Bagan in the 79th mintue when a thirty yarder piledrrver found the target.

Santosh killed the game in the 87th minute with susbtitute Jarren Moultrie taking 4-2 for the visitors.

In the other semifinal of the day Mahidnra United defeated Churchill Brothers 6-4 via tie breaker after scheduled 90 minutes and extra thirty minutes produced 1-1.
