South India Rugby 10s tournament on April 14 and 15

Bangalore, Apr 12 (UNI) Nine Rugby Teams from South India will fight it out in the 'e4e' South India Rugby 10's Tournament to be played at the Corps of Military Police (CMP) Rugby Grounds in the city on April 14 and 15.

Organised by the South India Rugby Football Association (SIRFA) along with its affiliate The Karnataka Rugby Football Union (KRFU), this 10-a-side rugby tournament would have teams from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu participating in it.

The teams participating included Bangalore Asetz Refugees, Bangalore Tigers, Bangalore Rugby Football Club, Chennai Cheetahs, Chennai Irish, CMP Bangalore, Hyderabad Rugby Club, Tamil Nadu Police 1 and Tamil Nadu Police 2.

Talking to newsmen here, SIRFA President Mohan Krishna said, ''this will be one of the biggest rugby tournaments to be organised in Bangalore. Reigning national champions Chennai Cheetahs and finalists Bangalore Rugby Football Club (BRFC) with star players like Emil, Tarun, Puneet, Subbu and Vinayaga Moorthy would be seen in action.

The tournament will have a preliminary round followed by the Knockout. The top three teams will win the Cup, the Plate and the Bowl respectively.

He said that the tournament would also act as trail for selection of team for International Rugby tournament to be held in Malysia during second week of November this year.
