Bengaluru/Sydney, November 22: Three-time major winner Jordan Spieth is impressed with former Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting's golfing skills.
Spieth, who begins in Australian Open title defence, played a round of golf with Ponting during the pro-am at The Australian Golf Club in Sydney.
The Tasmanian's love for golf is well known and he usually plays at the Metropolitan Course in Melbourne.
"It's a bit different. You get a bit nervous," Ponting said about his first tee with Spieth.

On his part, Spieth said it was a "great honour" to play a round with Ponting, and the former Test captain was extremely impressed that his US partner not only wanted to talk about cricket, but had all the knowledge too.
Going by Ponting's performance in the greens on Wednesday (November 22) in Sydney, it looks as though Ponting's brilliance with the willow has clearly been transformed into the golf clubs.
In one remarkable shot on the 16th hole, Ponting's ball was behind a tree but he shaped it around the trunk and landed it on the green, 120 metres away and it won praise from none other than Spieth himself.
"Boy, he has a really solid game. He can bomb it," Spieth said in awe of his partner.
"He has a nice putting stroke. You can tell he's a scratch player just by when he sets up and hits one shot," Spieth added.
