Sports Association demands separate welfare board
Puducherry, Sep 9 (UNI) Puducherry State Sportspersons Associations has urged the administration to take immediate steps to set up a separate welfare board for sportspersons in the union territory.
According to a release here today, a resolution to this effect was adopted at their meeting here yesterday.
Another resolution urged the administration to set up a separate directorate for sports here.
The meeting also demanded allotment of the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex and Anna Thidal exclusively for sports activities.
Reservation for sportspersons in education and employment, provision of pension to unemployed and aged sportspersons were among the other resolutions adopted at the meeting.
