Sports Ministry announces a cash reward of Rs 30 lakh for Bindra

New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) The Ministry of Sports has announced a cash prize of Rs 30 lakh for Abhinav Bindra on his becoming the first Indian to win a gold in Olympics in an individual event.

The Ministry had given Bindra financial support amount to Rs 35 lakh for his individualised training in India and abroad under a dedicated coach.

The Government had given him assistance worth Rs 60 lakhs during the last four to five years and would give him all required financial support in future also, a Ministry release said.
