The Squash World Cup will return as the premier battleground of squash competitors after a 12-year hiatus with the show-piece tournament set to begin in Chennai, India on June 13 and conclude with the final on June 17.
The tournament hosted in the Express Avenue Mall in Chennai, will see eight countries participating in the tournament as India will be joined by Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, 2011 champions Egypt, South Africa, Australia, and Colombia.

The eight teams will be divided into two groups of four teams each. Egypt, Australia, Colombia and Malaysia were drawn in Group A, while India is pitted alongside Japan, Hong Kong and South Africa.
This will be the fourth edition of the tournament and features a revamped format as each team will have two men and two women, as opposed to two men and one woman in the previous editions, making four total representatives for each country.
Every match will be first to seven points in a best-of-five in a round-robin format which will feature a knockout stage after that. The teams finishing first and second in each group will progress to the semifinals, while the remaining teams will battle in 5-8 positional playoffs.
The playing order for each team will either be woman-2, man-1, woman-1, man-2, or man-2, woman-1, man-1, woman-2, with the order being decided via coin toss. Man-1 and woman-1 will be awarded two points per win, while man-2 and woman-2 one point.
