Sr Nat basketball tourney from Dec 21

Puducherry, Dec 19 (UNI) Defending champions Services and Railway's in men and women sections would vie for honours in the 58th Senior National Basketball championship beginning here on December 21.

Addressing a press conference today, organising secretary Fr M S John Bosco said 27 men and 24 women teams would take part in the tournament.

The matches would be played on a league-cum-knockout format, he said adding that for the first time, Third empire system would be introduced in the championship.

Puducherry Education Minister M O H F Shajahan would inaugurate the tournament.
