Sridhar defeat Kashyap to emerge champion

Dehradun, Feb 4 (UNI) Top seed Arup Sridhar outclassed P Kashyap of Andhra Pradesh 22-20, 21-13 to clinch men's singles title of LVL All India Major Ranking Prize Money Badminton Tournament here today.

It was a keen contest in the first game as Kashyap stretched Sridhar (PSPB) before bowing down 20-22. Kashyap who had recently joined the senior squad showed agility and precision but Sridhar exhibited his class to take the lead.

Second game was a cake walk for Sridhar as he simply drubbed his rival to lift the title.

In women's singles title clash, third seed Dhanya Nair of Railway defeated Poonam Tiwari 21-7, 24-22 in straight games.

In men's doubles, top seeds Sanave Thomas and Rupesh Kumar lived up to the expectations as they lifted doubles title beating Jose George and Jaseel P Ismail 21-13, 21-17. Meanwhile Aparna and Jyotsna dumped Aswini and Nitya 21-11,21-15 to walk away with Women's Double title.
