Sridhar, Kashyap move on to semis.

Dehra Dun, Feb 2 (UNI) Anup Sridhar and P Kashyap moved into the semifinals of men's single semifinal in the LVL All India Major Ranking Prize Money Badminton Tournament beating Guru Sai and Rajiv Bajaj respectively here today.

Unseed Guru Sai (AP) gave a brilliant performance before bowing to the top seed Sridhar (PSPB) 15-21, 15-21.

Meanwhile, second seed Kashyap did not have to perspire much to dump Bajaj 21-18, 21-14 to enter the semis.

Fourth seed Sachin Rathi of Railways defeated six seed K Tanishk while eighth seed Mayank Behl also from Railways, beat Uttar Pradesh's Ravinder Singh and moved on to semi-finals.

Shridhar will meet Sachin Rathi and Mayank will meet P Kashyap in the semifinals tomorrow.

In women's double's quarter final, Parul Rawat (Rly) Poonam Tiwari (Uttarakhand) beat B Deepthi Priya and E Deepthi of AP, Ashwini Ponappa/Nitya Sosale of Karnataka defeated V Jyotiswaroop/K Radhika Reddy from Andhra Pradesh, Guri Chopra/ Meenakshi Nair (Rly) defeated Dhanya Nair/ Saumya Padhye an the combination of Gayatri and Mohita beat Aparna Balan and P. Jyotsana.

In the mixed doubles, Sanave/ Saumya defeated Mohit Kamte /E Deepthi, Rupesh/ Aparna Balan excelled over Mayank Behal/Juotyi Swaroop, Anis/ Vijay Anand dumped Vinit/ P Jyotsna and J James/ B Deepthi Priyadarshani accounted for Aman Saxena and Poonam Tiwari to reach semis.

In women's singles pre quarter final match, top seed Aparna Balan (Kerela) has to face a defeat from unseed Aswani Ponappa (Karnataka) in a three set encounter 21-13,15-21,21-14.
