SSP Chowrasia leads in AIS Golf Open
New Delhi, Apr 5 (UNI) SSP Chowrasia carded a bogey-free nine-under-par 63 to tie the course record and take the first round lead at the inaugural Rs 60 Lakh AIS Golf Open, which started at the Delhi Golf Club today.
Chowrasia carded birdies on the first, third, fourth and fifth holes to make the turn at four-under-par 32.
He then birdied the 11th, 13th, 14th 15th and 18th holes to shoot a bogey-free 63 and tie the course record previously held by Myanmar's Zaw Moe and Sri Lankan Anura Rohana.
Meanwhile, Gaurav Ghei and Vinod Kumar were tied for second place with identical scores of three-under-par 67.
Tied alongside Ghei, Vinod Kumar carded a bogey-free five-under-par, while Ashok Kumar carded a bogey-free 68 for tied fourth place alongside Gurki Shergill, C Muniyappa, Craig McLean and Shiv Prakash.
Mukesh Kumar, Shamim Khan, Shurya Singh and Amandeep Johl were tied a further stroke behind at three-under-par 69 while Shiv Kapur carded a one-over-par 73.
