State level Triathlon meet from March 4

Tirupati, Feb 24 (UNI) The Chittoor district Triathlon association is organising a state level Triathlon meet in the temple town on March 4 and 5.

About 200 persons across the state would participate in the event, which is a combination of swimming (1.5km), cyclng (40km) and running (10km), association secretary D John Anthony said in a release here today.

The participants will have to perform continously without any break in between, he said. Triathlon, a popular at the international level, had been introduced in India 15 years back.

Andhra pradesh had produced over 100 Triathletes from all over the state.

The selected persons would play at the National level Triathlon to be held in Chennai in the middle of next month, he added.
