Steve Kerr intends to give Stephen Curry some rest following a subpar performance against the Denver Nuggets. Despite scoring 20 points for the Golden State Warriors, Curry struggled with his shooting, missing 10 of 14 three-point attempts and committing seven turnovers. The Warriors' 114-105 loss ended their seven-game winning streak, even though the Nuggets were without Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Christian Braun.
Curry was listed as questionable due to a lower back issue but played 35 minutes. Kerr acknowledged Curry's fatigue, stating, "He's tired...Steph's been carrying us for a month. He's been amazing. He's tired, so we have got to get him some rest." Kerr emphasized the need for Curry to recuperate before facing the Milwaukee Bucks.

Kerr expressed concern about Curry's energy levels, noting that he appeared exhausted during recent games. "You can see it; he doesn't have his energy right now," Kerr said. He stressed the importance of giving Curry a break to rejuvenate him for future matches. "We've got to absolutely consider giving him a night and getting him rejuvenated," he added.
Jimmy Butler, who scored 23 points in the game, highlighted the responsibility of Curry's teammates to support him more effectively. "It's OK to be tired," Butler stated. "That's on myself and on us as a unit to pick up the slack for him." Butler emphasized that while many view Curry as superhuman, he is not and needs protection from his team.
Curry turned 37 last week and did not seek excuses for his performance. "I feel fine," he said. He acknowledged his poor play and noted that everyone would try to understand why it happened. He attributed some issues to recent back discomfort but felt otherwise solid.
"Obviously, I didn't play great at all," Curry admitted. He mentioned that turnovers and poor decisions plagued his game but remained optimistic about regaining consistency. "You expect to have a level of consistency...so when it doesn't happen it becomes a question," he explained.
The Warriors aim to manage Curry's workload carefully while ensuring team success in upcoming games against strong opponents like the Bucks.
