Stephen Curry has reached a historic milestone, becoming the first NBA player to achieve 4,000 three-pointers. This achievement came during the Golden State Warriors' victory over the Sacramento Kings, where they won 130-104. This win marked their sixth consecutive triumph and their 11th in the last 12 games. Curry expressed that reaching this milestone was a special moment for him.
Curry needed two more three-pointers to reach this landmark after becoming the 26th player to score 25,000 points last Saturday. His first successful attempt was from the left wing in the first quarter, although he missed his second try near the top of the arc. The significant 4,000th three-pointer came from the right wing in the third quarter, assisted by Moses Moody.

A tribute was played on the big screen during a timeout to honour Curry's achievement. Before reaching this milestone, Curry shared with ESPN that achieving such a feat was beyond his wildest dreams. He already held the record for most three-pointers made after surpassing Ray Allen's 2,973 on December 14, 2021.
Curry expressed his joy at achieving this milestone at home, saying it was a special moment. "The 2,974 record in New York was great," he noted, "but to do it in front of the home fans I felt the energy, it was special." Curry turns 37 on Friday and continues to make history with his incredible shooting skills.
The game against Sacramento presented challenges as they employed a unique defensive strategy against Curry. "It was a weird night because we all knew I was two away," Curry said. He made his first shot in the first quarter off a transition pass from Jonathan Kuminga. Sacramento's defense involved face-guarding and top-locking him throughout.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr also achieved a significant milestone by tying Al Attles for most regular-season coaching wins in franchise history at 557. Kerr expressed delight at witnessing Curry's achievement and humorously suggested that Curry could aim for another 4,000 three-pointers in future games.
Kerr praised Curry's dedication to maintaining his physical condition and rhythm on court. "So, he just keeps going the way he keeps himself in shape and conditioned in rhythm," Kerr said confidently about Curry's future potential. "He's going to make another 1,000 for sure."
