Sufiya Sufi: Indian Long Distance Runner Claims Fourth Guiness World Record After Fastest Run In Qatar

Indian long distance runner Sufiya Sufi overcomes many hurdles to claim her fourth Guiness World Record after completing the fastest run in Qatar.
The Indian runner, who covered over 200 km within 30 hours and 34 minutes to set the record, suffered from stomach problems and vomited three times during the run.
She also had strong wind against her and despite all the issues, the Indian runner showed her mental strength and completed her goal. Overall it was an incredible achievement for her.
The proud runner, who moved into ultra-running from marathon runs, took to social media to announce her latest achievement which will also make India proud.
She posted: "My 4th world record is official now. Now INDIA holds the World Record for the Fastest Run Across QATAR, and I am so proud that I got this opportunity to bring it to my Country."
In her previous run, the Manali-Leh stretch on foot last year, she set her third record. She completed a distance of 486 km in 6 days, 12 hours and 6 minutes, making her the fastest female to cover the distance.
She had earlier broken a Guinness Record by completing the quickest run by a female of the famous Golden Quadrilateral of India. The Golden Quadrilateral encompasses a 6002km distance between Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai.
She completed that run in 110 days, 23 hours and about 24 minutes and this has been officially recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records. Her run began on 16th December 2020 and concluded on April 6 2021.
Sufiya even holds the Guinness record for being the fastest woman to cover Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 2019, running the length in 87 days, 2 hours, and 17 minutes. This was the first of her records. And she plans on adding more in the near future and most probably in 2024.
