Sunil Yadav only notable omission among the probables
New Delhi, July 9 (UNI) Mid-fielder Sunil Yadav is the only notable omission from among the 36 probables shortlisted by the Indian Hockey Confederation (IHC) for the coaching camp in prepration of the 7th Asia Cup to be held in Chennai from September 1 to 9.
India is the defending champion, having won the title at Kuala Lumpur in 2003.
The coaching camp will be held at SAI Centre, Bangalore from July 15 to August 14.
Barring Sunil Yadav, all the other 17 players who represented the country in the Champions Challenge Trophy in Belgium have been retained for the camp.
Making a comeback of sort is left half Ajmer Singh who was in the Asian Games squad but was dropped from the national side because of injury he suffered in the national league.
It seems curtains for forwards Gagan Ajit, Deepak Thakur and mid-fielder Viren Rasquenha as the three have been ignored once again.
