On Monday, ONE Championship announced the main and co-main events of its November blockbuster ONE 173, set to take place at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan. This will be the promotion's second event in the Land of the Rising Sun this year.
The headliner will be a highly anticipated ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title unification bout between reigning champion and pound-for-pound great Superbon and Japanese kickboxing legend and interim champion Masaaki Noiri.

The seeds of this dream matchup were sown when Noiri shocked the world by finishing Thai superstar Tawanchai PK Saenchai in an interim featherweight kickboxing world championship match in March this year.
A clash between Superbon and Noiri is as good as it gets for striking fans. The 34-year-old Thai megastar is a master of striking and known for his missile-like head kicks. Across his six ONE wins, he boasts victories over legends like Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong, Giorgio Petrosyan, Marat Grigorian, and more.
If the Superbon Training Camp standout claims victory over the Japanese master, he will further cement his legacy as one of the greatest strikers of all time. However, the 32-year-old Japanese man has proved in his last performance that he is no easy opponent.
For his part, Noiri's start in the promotion didn't live up to his expectations, as he suffered two consecutive losses in 2024. But he came back like a man possessed in 2025, scoring a remarkable leg-kick knockout victory over Shakir Al-Tekreeti.
This KO victory earned him an interim title shot against Tawanchai and he TKO'd him in the third round to earn the coveted strap. Now, the stage is set for fireworks in a bout that could be a Fight of the Year contender.
In the co-main event, a grudge match will take place between two of ONE Championship's heavyweight behemoths, Anatoly Malykhin and "Reug Reug" Oumar Kane, for the latter's crown. The African sensation stunned the world by dethroning the Russian at ONE 169 last year.
Still, as ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight MMA World Champion, Malykhin will stop at nothing to reclaim his third title and remind the world why he is the most ruthless heavyweight. Meanwhile, "Reug Reug" will look to keep the belt to himself and solidify his spot.
