ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9's tour of destruction in ONE Championship continued last weekend, and "The Kicking Machine" added another reputable name to his growing list of victims.
Last Saturday, 15 July, Superlek carved one more victory into his illustrious record, defeating Russian star Tagir Khalilov by second-round TKO in the main event of ONE Fight Night 12 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The latest performance saw the Thai superstar take his winning streak to eight in a row while going 4-0 overall this year. In doing so, Superlek had to turn the fight into a slugfest against an aggressive foe like Khalilov.
After a round and a half, Superlek's attacks paid dividends as "Samingpri" eventually wilted under the pressure of the Thai veteran's striking prowess. Looking at his performance on the night, Superlek said:
"I watched Tagir fight extensively before this fight and I had prepared so my strategy wasn't just using the elbows. I was determined to leave the scars on his vest, so I'm very happy that it [went] according to plan.
"My plan was just to finish the fight by knockout or TKO, and it didn't matter (how). A knee route would've been ok too. I just wanted to finish the fight beautifully and show the people the art of Muay Thai."
With his dominance established as the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion and the #1-ranked contender in the promotion's flyweight Muay Thai realm, Superlek continues to eye up a battle in another weight category.
ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan Haggerty shocked the world in beating former king Nong-O Hama this past April at ONE Fight Night 9 to claim the crown, but Superlek's ambitions aren't devoted to avenging his legendary compatriot.
Both Superlek and Haggerty once shared the flyweight Muay Thai division, despite never meeting. Now, Superlek sees Haggerty's evolution through the bantamweight division as a fitting challenge for himself - and he hopes to add more gold to his illustrious record by defeating the Brit.
"I would like to face Haggerty because he's a good fighter, and [nowadays] he's gotten stronger," Superlek said. "He's gotten tougher, so I would like to face the very best version of him."
