Indian Muay Thai star Surya Sagar has made history by becoming the first Indian to secure a golden ticket for the World League of Fighters. The qualifying event, supported by EaseMyTrip and Vernost Technologies, took place on June 1 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
The first qualifying event of the World League of Fighters featured five main matches, including cruiserweight, featherweight, middleweight, welterweight, and female featherweight categories.

Surya Sagar's victory stood out among the participation of many Indian fighters. His win highlighted the growing proficiency of Indian fighters on the global stage. Mr. Rajesh Banga, Chairman of World League of Fighters, praised Sagar, stating, "His performance was nothing short of spectacular. His commitment and skill embody the essence of the event."
In other matches, Ukrainian fighter Anatoli Shponarskyi defeated Rauf Gerayzade of Azerbaijan. Dana Begzhonova of Russia won the female featherweight division against Spain's Alba Morral. Santanfah Sitsongpeenong of Thailand triumphed over Azerbaijan's Mahabbat Humbatov in the middleweight division.
The event also featured a prestige fight supported by UAE Warriors and Palm Sports. Kazakhstan's Ali Kabdulla faced Armenia's Martin Mezhlumyan, with Kabdulla emerging victorious. Colonel Thanapol Bhakdibhumi, President of WBC Muaythai, noted the high level of competition and expressed excitement for the first-ever event in the UAE.
EaseMyTrip and Vernost Technologies played crucial roles in the event's success. Their support helped increase attendance and operational effectiveness. Mr. Nilesh Singh, Co-Founder of World League of Fighters, expressed gratitude to the sponsors and looked forward to the inaugural launch. He noted the addition of exciting talents in the golden ticket event.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand also supported the event, highlighting the country's commitment to promoting its cultural heritage. The event featured performances by Thailand's dynamic rapper Two Pee and singer Kratae, adding to the spectacle. International DJs also contributed to the pulsating atmosphere.
WLF and the World Boxing Council Muaythai collaborated to elevate the sport's popularity. For the first time, 16 top Muaythai fighters, both male and female, will compete in a franchise-based league-style tournament. This event, presented by Combat Sport World, aims to win the coveted WLF WBC Title Belt in the UAE.
