Sushil Kumar among 84 wrestlers to get training for CWG

New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) Beijing Olympics' bronze medallist Sushil Kumar, Yogeshwar Dutt and Rajiv Tomar have been included in the list of 84 wrestlers by the Sports Ministry who would be provided training and exposure both at the domestic and international levels in a bid to improve the medlas tally at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

While the steering committee has approved the names of 83 wrestlers which include 56 wrestlers in the men's category and 28 women wrestlers, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has been asked to furnish the name of one more wrestler (men) to complete the list.

In addition, 12 Indian and two foreign coaches have also been identified in consultations with the WFI.

With an objective of improving India's competitiveness in international sports, the Union Cabinet, in June, gave its approval for a scheme titled ''Preparation of Indian Team for Commonwealth Games, 2010'', with an outlay of Rs 678 crore for next three years.

The Steering committee constituted by the Government, has also directed the WFI to submit without delay the names of supporting personnel such as Sports Analyst, Doctor, Physiotherapist, Masseur and Masseuse as per the scheme for its approval.
