Sushma wins Gold medal in National shooting competition

Ahmedabad, Dec 29 (UNI) Ms Sushma Singh of CISF won first gold medal in the 51st National Shooting Championship which started in Ahmedabad here today. Ms Singh won gold medal in sports pistol women event.

She was at second place during the qualifying round at 576 but in the finals with 196.6 she clinched the gold medal. Anuraj Singh of Indian Airlines won the silver medal with 577+191.9. The third place went to sweta Chaudhary of ONGC with 567+196.9.

The National Championship in Rifle/ pistol events commenced today at Ahmedabad Military Rifle and Training Association. More than 1150 shooters from all over the country are participating in the event.

In junior sports pistol event, Upasana Parasarampuria of Maharashtra won the Gold medal with a score of 565/600. The silver medal was won by Ruby Tomar of Punjab with 552 and Bronze medal went to Rahi of Maharashtra with 549 score.

The event will continue till 7th January 2008.
