Syndrela Das delivered a standout performance at the 87th UTT Inter-State Junior and Youth National Table Tennis Championships in Dehradun, clinching the Under-19 girls' singles title and completing a rare double by also winning the Under-17 singles crown.
The talented 16-year-old from West Bengal defeated Maharashtra's Divyanshi Bhowmick 4-1 in the U-19 Women's Singles final with a score of 7-11, 11-4, 11-9, 11-6, 11-4, showcasing remarkable consistency and comeback ability after dropping the opening game.

Syndrela Das completes Double Crown
She had earlier secured the U-17 singles title with a 4-2 victory over the same opponent, Divyanshi Bhowmick, who happens to be a close friend of hers as well.
This back-to-back triumph in the two age categories highlights Das's exceptional versatility and rising dominance in Indian youth table tennis.
In the doubles events, Karnataka's pair Tanishka Kalbhairav and Himanshi Chowdhary claimed the U-19 girls' doubles title after a hard-fought, gripping final. Meanwhile, the West Bengal duo of Ankolika Chakraborty and Ahona Ray staged a strong comeback to win the U-17 girls' doubles crown, overcoming Maharashtra's Naisha Rewaskar and Divyanshi Bhowmick.
The championships, held at the Multipurpose Hall in Dehradun's Parade Ground, served as a key platform for India's emerging table tennis talents, with West Bengal and Karnataka players making significant impressions across multiple categories.
Das's double victory, in particular, underscores her promising trajectory as one of the country's brightest young prospects. She recently won the WTT Feeder Mixed Doubles title in Vadodara, and also clinched the U19 Mixed Doubles title with Sarthak Arya, making herself an emerging force among the Indian paddlers.
Syndrela continues to transition successfully from youth dominance to senior-level competition, with impressive showings against international opponents. The Bengal girl has a huge admiration for China's Wang Manyu, who has won the last two Gold medals in the Olympics, in 2020 and 2024.
