Taipei pair Chan/Chuang wins Sony Ericsson doubles title

Bangalore, Feb 18 (UNI) Top seeded Taipei pair of Chan Yung-Jan and Chuang Chia-Jung lifted Sony Ericsson International WTA Doubles title defeating Su-Wei Hsieh of Taipei and Alla Kudryavtseva of Russia 7-6(4), 6-2, 11-9 at KSLTA stadium here today.

In a battle that lasted for one hour 46 minutes, the Australian Open finalists emerged winners in the super tie-breaker to pocket 7,620, dollars while the runner-up received a cash pack of 4,020 dollars.

It was a rare feast for the thousands of tennis lovers as the match was keenly contested right from the beginning with fourth seed pair, after stretching the set to tie-breaker, won the set only to make the top seed to fight back and win the second. In the super tie-breaker, the Taipei pair won on the fourth match point.
