Tait ready to give up speed on his come back

Sydney, Mar 14 (UNI) Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait has vowed to make a come back to the international cricket and the pacer is even ready to give up his most lethal weapon - speed - so that he can focus more on his line and length.

''I'm my own worst enemy. Everyone talks it up. Everyone looks at me for one reason - that I can bowl fast and that's it.

''I'm going to work on other parts of my game as well,'' Tait said.

Tait, who went in to a self imposed exile after the third Test against India at Perth claimed that he was so stressed and consumed by the expectations that he ''hated the game''.

''Basically things were just getting on top of me mentally and physically for a long time,'' Tait said.

''The stress of trying to bowl fast all the time . . . it plays on your mind all the time.'' The 25-year-old Tait went wicketless in his last Test against India and announced an indefinite break from cricket following mental and physical exhaustion.

The speedster added that he was not fully fit for the match which Australia eventually lost and regretted that he should not have played that game.

''I wasn't 100 per cent fit and would have been wiser not to have played at WACA.'' However, the pacer is geared up to make a come back and will return to play for South Australia (SA). He could well be seen in action against the West Indies but only if he gets selected for the tour.

''I am going to play cricket again. That is a no-brainer at this stage.

''At this stage it may be a pre-season with the SA side and get back playing again to start off with,'' he said.
