Day 2 of the Tamil Nadu International Surf Open QS 3000 saw an impressive display from the top seeds. The competition took place at Mahabalipuram Beach, where the men's Rounds of 48 and 6 Heats of Men's Round of 32 were completed before onshore winds forced a hold in the competition.
One standout performer on Day 2 was Japan's Joh Azuchi. Coming off a Semifinal finish at the Bonsoy Chiba Ichinomiya Open in Japan, Azuchi continued his strong form in Heat 1 of the Round of 32. He recorded the highest two-wave total of the event so far with a score of 14.15 out of a possible 20.

Azuchi showcased his skills with razor-sharp frontside snaps that perfectly matched the slow right-handers at Mahabalipuram Beach. Despite being last for most of the heat, he managed to find his two scores in the final minutes.
Other Japanese surfers Raiha Onou and Daiki Tanaka also performed well, posting mid-range scores to advance to the Round of 16. Swedish representative Kian Martin showed glimpses of talent, while Dhany Widianto from Indonesia won his heat with an impressive lay-back snap manoeuvre.
Earlier in the day, Indian competitors Sivaraj Babu, Ajeesh Ali, and Kishore Kumar all progressed through their heats in the Round of 48 with solid performances. However, Ali and Kumar were eliminated in the Round of 32. Despite this disappointment for local fans, they have made history by partaking in India's first WSL event on Indian Shores.
The event organizers will reconvene tomorrow to decide whether or not to start at 7:00 a.m., following a call at6:30 a.m.local time.
