The 5th Indian Open of Surfing was held in Mangaluru, showcasing top talent nationwide. Tamil Nadu surfers emerged victorious in all four categories i.e. Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Groms Boys & U-16 and Groms Girls & U-16, highlighting their prowess in the sport.
The event spanned three days, offering a platform for both seasoned and young surfers to compete. The Surfing Swami Foundation organised the competition, hosted by the Mantra Surf Club. The event was backed by the New Mangalore Port Authority and the Karnataka Government, along with other supporters.

Ajeesh Ali, who participated in the Paris Olympics qualifiers last year, secured the championship in the Men's Open category. His experience and skill set him apart, making him the new champion.
Kamali Moorthi continued her winning streak by successfully defending her titles in the Women's Open and Groms Girls & U-16 categories. Her consistent performance underscores her dominance in these categories.
Tayin Arun emerged as the winner in the Groms Boys & U-16 category, adding to Tamil Nadu's impressive haul of titles at the event.
