Tara Iyer eyes second title in two weeks

New Delhi, Aug 31 (UNI) Tara Iyer stayed on course for her second title in as many weeks after she defeated Nungnadda Wannasuk of Thailand in straight sets to storm into the final in the ITF women's tennis tournament here today.

The third seeded Indian, who took the ITF title in Noida last week, won a tight semi-finals contest to overpower the eighth seeded Thai 6-4, 7-5 in the 10,000 dollar event.

In the final tomorrow, Iyer will take on Kyung-Yee Chae of Korea, who upset fifth seeded Indian Ankita Bhambri in another semi-final match.

The unseeded Korean took the game 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 to deny the Indian spectators what could have been second all India final after the Noida event.
