Tawanchai PK Saenchai enjoyed a fruitful transition into ONE Championship's kickboxing ranks at Bangkok, Thailand's Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. The ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion continued his trail of destruction in a new sport at ONE Fight Night 13: Allazov vs. Grigorian.
At the event this past Saturday, 5 August, he battled former Glory Kickboxing World Champion Davit Kiria. The 24-year-old showcased his stoicism inside the ring, battering his Georgian foe with blistering kicks.

The methodical attacks eventually paid dividends in the third frame. Tawanchai's powerful strikes shattered Kiria's arm. And, in turn, the referee was forced to call an end to the action.
This might've been Tawanchai's first kickboxing bout in ONE. But it wasn't his first time facing a kickboxer in the organization. Tawanchai fought legendary Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong under Muay Thai rules in August 2021.
However, the fight went down to a split decision in favor of Sitthichai. Because of that, Tawanchai vowed never to make the same mistakes again, whether in kickboxing or Muay Thai.
"Losing to Sitthichai was a big disappointment for me, so I made a goal that I [wouldn't] lose to anyone else," he said. "Being 24 years old, I feel like there's still a lot of room for improvement for me, especially in kickboxing rules. I don't think I'm good at kickboxing, and there's still a lot of things that I need to improve."
The next time Tawanchai is in action, he'll be back in 4-ounce Muay Thai gloves. That's because on Saturday, 7 October, Tawanchai will defend his ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title for the second time.
His opponent lying in wait will be no easy feat to manage, though. Tawanchai will take on former ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion and fellow Thai superstar Superbon Singha Mawynn.
Superbon returns to the Muay Thai realm after a dominant run as the king of the featherweight kickboxers. Now he's looking for a new challenge since parting ways with the gold this past January.
The decorated Thai was last in action at ONE Fight Night 12, where he scored an incredible high-kick knockout ofTayfun Ozcan to return to the win column. After knocking off Kiria, Tawanchai is ready to take out his biggest name yet.
"I don't think [Superbon's knockout of Ozcan] makes him such a difficult opponent. I think it [will] be a fun fight. I think we have close skills in terms of skill sets, so I think it [will] be entertaining," Tawanchai said.
"I feel like his timing was great [against Tayfun Ozcan]. He was really good at finding the right time to strike the opponent and the strike became successful."
