Telugu Yoddhas, owned by the GMR group, are gearing up for the upcoming season of the Ultimate Kho-Kho League with a strong squad, determined to improve upon their runner-up finish last season.
In the recent draft held in Bhubaneshwar, the team carefully selected 25 players, including three retained from the previous season, forming a formidable combination of emerging talent and experienced players.

Arun Gunki, Pratik Waikar, and Avdhut Patil, standout performers from the first season, were retained to establish a robust core for the squad. The draft, held in Odisha's capital on November 21st, saw the selection of 127 players out of the 275 in contention.
Telugu Yoddhas strategically picked players like Adhithya Ganpule and Rahul Mansaram Mandal from Category A, recognizing their impressive performances in the inaugural season. Category A players will receive a reward of 6 lakhs each.
From Category B, the team selected players like Nikhil Siddharan Waghe, Milind Chavrekar, Akash Togare, Kiran Vasave, Dhruv, and Prasad Radye, who will be awarded five lakhs each. Ten players from Category C, including Rudra Thopate and Prem Balu Randive, were chosen, each receiving three lakhs.
The team rounded out their roster by selecting four players from Category D, with individuals like Arjun Bishukarma and Prasad Patil earning 1.5 lakhs each.
Mr. PKSV Sagar, the CEO of GMR League Games Pvt. Ltd., expressed his excitement for the upcoming season, highlighting the growth potential of the private league. He emphasized the organization's commitment to building the sport, drawing parallels with their efforts in Kabaddi.
Reflecting on the previous season, Telugu Yoddhas exhibited dominant offensive gameplay, securing the third position in the standings by winning six out of ten matches.
Despite a strong performance leading to the finals, they narrowly missed clinching the title, falling short by just one point against Odisha Juggernauts.
