Thailand grab lead as Indians have an indifferent day

Manila, May 7 (UNI) Indian golfers put up an insipid display to fall two shots behind leaders Thailand on the second day of the Asia Pacific Juniors here today.

Among the four Indians in the fray, Ashbeer Saini was the best of lot with a score of 71.

The other scores were Rahul Bakshi (79), Chikkarangappa (76) and Rashid Khan (75).

India is currently leading third placed Chinese Taipei by six shots.

In the girls section, India had a dismal day with Sharmila Nicolette shooting 76 while Gauri Monga and Meher Atwal both fired 84. They are currently in sixth place.

In the individual category, India's Abhijeet Chadha continued his fine performance to hold the second spot.

Gurbani Singh was in the third position in the under 13 girls category.
