Top Indian players to grace ITF Women''s International tour

Kolkata, Jan 17 (PTI) Top Indian players PoojashreeVenkatasha, Rushmi Chakraborti and local girl Shivika Burmanwill be seen in action at the ITF Women''s Internationaltournament in Saltlake from January 24-29.

The star attraction of the tournament will be Slovenia''sworld ranked 395 Dalila Jakupovic.

The other top entries who have confirmed participationinclude Japanese duo of Mari Tanaka (ranked 462) and SakikoShimizu (529), Italy''s Nicole Clerico (475), Sarah-RebeccaSekulic (556) of Germany, among others.

The tournament conducted by the Jaidip Mukerjea TennisAcademy in the courts at FE Park is a first of its kind inKolkata and carries a prize money of USD 10,000.

The singles winner will get a cash prize of USD 1,568while the doubles champions will get a prize purse of USD 637.

The qualifying round will be played on January 22 and23 followed by the main draw from the next day having 32singles players and 16 double teams.
